How to Use This Site

The Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Portal (MSPRP) is a secure web-based application that provides attorneys, representatives, beneficiaries, insurers, claimants, and third party payers (TPAs) the ability to access and update certain Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) case specific information online.

When you first access this site, the Welcome to the MSPRP (Login) page appears.

New Registration and Account Setup

The area near the bottom of the Welcome to the MSPRP (Login) page contains two buttons:

  • [Step 1 New Registration] - Click this button to create a new account and obtain an MSPRP account ID. You must create an account in order to begin using the MSPRP.
  • [Step 2 Account Set Up] - used to complete the setup of the account after the new registration step. Click this button to set up a new account. This step cannot be performed until you have received y our account ID and Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will need the account ID and PIN to continue with the account setup process. For more information on registration and account setup, see the How to Get Started help page under the How To…menu.

Login

The area on the right side of the Welcome to the MSPRP (Login) page contains fields related to account login:

  • Once you have obtained your login ID and password, you will enter them in the User Name and Password fields, and click the Login button to sign on to the application. If you do not yet have a login ID, see the How to Get Started help page under the How To…menu. Note: Users of the Mandatory Reporting and Workers' Compensation Medicare Set-Aside applications must use the same login ID and password to access the MSPRP site.
  • Forgot ID Link - If you already have a login ID and password but have forgotten the user name you created, you may use this link to request it.
  • Forgot Password Link - If you already have a login ID and password but have forgotten your password, you may use this link to reset it.

At the bottom of the Welcome to the MSPRP (Login) page, there are links to the MSPRP Privacy Policy and User Agreement.

Navigation Menu

The navigation menu at the top of each page provides the following menu options:

  • Home - Navigates to the MSPRP Welcome! (Home) page.
  • About This Site - navigates to this help page.
  • CMS Links - Provides a link to the CMS.gov website, and the General Medicare page on the CMS website.
  • How To - Provides detailed information on performing the following functions:
    • Getting Started
    • Requesting your Login ID
    • Requesting your Password
    • Changing your Password
    • Resetting your PIN
    • Changing your Account Representative
    • Changing your Account Manager
    • Inviting Account Designees
  • Reference Materials - Provides a link to view and download the MSPRP user guide.
  • Contact Us - Provides information on who to contact to get assistance with technical issues and/or MSP issues.
