Account Designees assist the Account Manager with the Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Portal (MSPRP) case recovery process. They can only be established for Corporate and Representative accounts. The number of Account Designees associated with one MSPRP account is dependent on the account type. Corporate accounts may have up to 200 Account Designees. Representative accounts may have up to five.
Account Designees can be employees or agents of the organization. They can only obtain a login ID and gain access to the MSPRP account through an invitation from the Account Manager.
The Account Manager must complete the following steps to invite an individual to become an Account Designee:
- Login to the MSPRP. From the Welcome! (Home) page, click the
Designee Maintenance link from the Account Settings box.
- When the Designee Listing page displays, click Add Designee. The Designee Information page displays.
- Provide the e-mail address of the Designee and then click Continue.
Note: The submitted email address must be associated with an individual person, not a distribution list or generic address. - The Designee Invitation page displays next. Provide the first and last name of your
Designee along with a passphrase.
Note: The passphrase is a short sequence of case-sensitive letters, numbers, and/or symbols up to 30 characters long. The designee will be required to enter the passphrase to verify their identity to the MSPRP in order to register. - Click Continue. The Designee Confirmation page displays next indicating that the designee has been invited to the account.
- Click Continue to return to the Designee Listing page. Contact the designee and provide them with the passphrase exactly as it was entered on the Designee Invitation page. The Account Designee will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to register and access the account on the MSPRP. The passphrase will not be included in this email.
Repeat steps 2-6 for each Account Designee who is to be invited to your account.
Click Home on the menu bar to return to the Welcome! (Home) page.
